The Barbados Light & Power Copany Limited is a fully investor-owned utility serving over 120,000 customers throughout 166 square miles of the island of Barbados. It has a generating capacity of 240 megawatts installed at three generating stations - Spring Garden, Garrison and Seawell - to serve a maximum peak demand of 167,500 kW. THE RUM REFINERY OF MOUNT GAY LIMITED The Rum Refinery of Mount Gay Limited, located at Mount Gay in the northern parish of St Lucy, is a distiller of column and pot still rums and produces its own brand of rum, Mount Gilboa. It is reputed to be the oldest continuously operating rum distillery in the world. The Rum Refinery of Mount Gay Limited holds current certification to ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management Systems. |
ARAWAK CEMENT COMPANY LIMITED
Arawak Cement Company Limited is a subsidiary of the TCL Group. It is located in Checker Hall, St. Lucy, Barbados and produces a consistently high quality of Grey Hydraulic Cement. The company produces gray cement for the local and export market. Arawak’s exports from Barbados as far north as St. Maarten and south to Suriname.
